Driving Abroad - Leasing car

Wether or not a car can be driven abroad during your leasing period depends on which leasing partner is connected to your contract.

For short term leasing with Enterprise the following applies:

Before leaving Sweden you need to get in touch with Enterprise to add a so called cross-border-permission. It costs SEK 200 a day, at most SEK 2000 a month. You’re then allowed to travel outside Sweden and drive the car in the following countries: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Schweiz, Czech Rebublic, Germany and Austria.

For long term leasing through Leaseplan the following applies:

If you would like to drive abroad with one of Leaseplans’ cars you can contact Leaseplan to get a green card. Please note that the delivery time on the green card can vary and that you need to request a green card in advance, this can be done through Leaseplan’s customer service department. The green card shall then be placed in the car and kept there during the entire trip.

In the cases where the country you’re going to is not demanding a green card, you will get a permission from Leaseplan that the car is allowed to be driven outside of Sweden. You can find more information about the countries that demands a green card here.

If you’re renting out your GoMore Leasing car:

When renting out your car through GoMore it is okay to drive the car abroad, as long as the renter has added the abroad insurance to their booking. This can easily be seen in the booking confirmation or under the tab "Bookings" in your profile. As stated above, a green card might be necessary depending on which country the renter will visit. Therefore it is good to order one well in advance and place it in the car in time for the rental.
